Our approach

Light should be felt
before it is noticed.

HALO balances beauty, usability and measurable performance. Every project begins with how people experience a space, then translates that intent into a coordinated, buildable and controllable lighting system.

Design workflow

A clear path from idea to installation.

The workflow evolves the established LDI process into a concise four-stage system that supports collaboration, approvals and technical delivery.

01

Discover

Brief, context, architecture, user needs, brand, sustainability, budget, visual priorities and technical constraints.

02

Define

Concept narrative, lighting hierarchy, precedent, sketches, mock-up intent, fixture typologies and controls philosophy.

03

Develop

Calculations, layouts, coordination, product selection, details, schedules, specifications and value engineering.

04

Deliver

IFC package, site review, aiming, programming, testing, commissioning and final handover.

Design principles

Simple. Standard. Sophisticated.

We use the right level of intervention for each space. Sometimes the strongest solution is quiet and intuitive; elsewhere, light can become a defining architectural layer.

A

Perception first

Brightness, contrast, direction and colour are designed around how the eye reads material, form and movement.

B

Darkness has value

We preserve shadow and restraint, using light selectively to create hierarchy, comfort and atmosphere.

C

Performance matters

Every concept is validated against illuminance, luminance, glare, uniformity, energy and maintenance criteria.

D

Controls complete the design

Scenes, dimming, timing and user operation are integral to the experience—not an afterthought.

E

Coordination is design

We integrate lighting into ceilings, façades, landscape, structure, services and joinery from the outset.

F

Build for longevity

We prioritise quality, access, replaceability, thermal performance, robust detailing and responsible energy use.
